Kenya to face Namibia in qualifier for AFCON FUTSAL Championship

Kenya Futsal team has been drawn against Namibia in the first round of the AFCON Futsal Championship 2026 qualifiers.
Following the draw held on Wednesday in Rabat, Kenya who will be chasing their debut appearence in the continental showpiece will start the first leg away in Namibia on 23rd of January before a return leg back in Nairobi on 28th.
The aggregate winner of the first round will face experienced Libya in the second and final round.
In another round one clashes, Cape Verde will battle Senegal, Cameroon against South Sudan as Zimbabwe entertain Tanzania.
At the end of the second round, the seven winners will secure qualification to the 2026 CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations final tournament, joining Morocco at the continental showpiece.
Kenya will hope to use the experience they gained in 2025 where they clinched the Asian Futsal Cup which was held in Sri lanka.
The squad consisted of veteran footballers including Joseph Mbugi who captained the team and former AFC Leopards goalkeeper Jarius Adira.
The team is set to hit camp immediately to start the preparations of the two-legged encounters.
