Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has blamed the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers for the constant human-wildlife conflict in the county.

Speaking after a consultative meeting with county leaders, police and KWS representatives on Friday, Lenku lashed out at KWS officers saying they have failed in their mandate to manage the elephants despite numerous complaints by the residents.

“Enough is enough. These animals have killed a large number of people and destroyed property. We are watching very closely to see if KWS will improve its workmanship,” said Lenku.

He however noted that the agency has promised to manage the wild animals but warned that if KWS does not protect Kajiado residents, they will be left with little choice but to defend themselves
