Kenya has officially made a long-awaited comeback to the global Miss International Beauty Pageant in 2025.

Miss International Kenya announced Muthoni Kariuki as Miss International Kenya 2025 on behalf of the Young People's Network International (TYPNI).

Fridah Muthoni Kariuki, former Miss Tourism Africa, will represent Kenya at the Miss International 2025 competition in Tokyo, Japan.

Her participation marks Kenya's return to the prestigious pageant after a long absence, reviving the country's presence in one of the world's oldest and most respected beauty contests.

“This is more than a crown — it’s a moment of representation and a call for young African women to rise, lead, and make their mark,” said the Miss International Kenya organization in a statement.

TYPNI CEO Charlene Ruto congratulated Ms. Kariuki on the feat, describing her as “a young, resilient Kenyan woman who chased her dreams till she caught them.”

“We are incredibly proud of Ms Noni. She is a perfect example of what passion, brilliance, courage, and kindness can birth. We wish her all the best as she prepares to represent Kenya. and we are confident she will fly our flag high on the international stage," she stated.

Kenya's participation in the Miss International Beauty Pageant dates back to the early years of the global competition, when the country proudly displayed its beauty, culture, and intellect on the international stage.

Over the years, Kenyan representatives have used the platform to promote the country’s heritage and advocate for social change through beauty with purpose.

Kenya’s most recent appearance was in 2022, represented by Cindy Isendi, whose participation marked a moment of renewed visibility for the nation after a period of limited engagement.

Isendi’s performance earned admiration for her poise, cultural representation, and commitment to advocacy continuing Kenya’s tradition of grace and global presence.

Now, with Muthoni Kariuki’s appointment as Miss International Kenya 2025, Kenya is making a historic return to the competition under new leadership by the Young People’s Network International (TYPN).

Her entry not only symbolizes Kenya’s comeback but also reignites national pride, setting the stage for a new era of representation rooted in purpose, culture, and empowerment.
