Attacking midfielder Whyvonne Isuza converted a late penalty to hand AFC Leopards a point in a 1-1 draw against battling Kariobnagi Sharks at the Thika Sub-County Stadium on Wednesday.

Francis Manoah had successfully headed home Pattillah Omoto’s free kick in the 76th minute to give Kariobangi Sharks the lead but Isuza had other ideas.

The William Muluya coached Sharks plotted other numerous attacks through Robin Kamura and Saphan Oyugi but  failed to convert the open chances.

And when it seemed the contest would end in favour of Sharks, Michael Bodo handled the ball in the box,  prompting the award of the penalty which Isuza duly dispatched.

“We lacked players to hold the Sharks strikers in the midfield because our players were using the flanks so much. We conceded because of a simple set piece but we shall continue to do more practice on the same until the players understand it,” Kitambi said in a post-match interview.
