The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched investigations into alleged unethical conduct involving 35 Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) in Narok following chaotic scenes and physical altercations witnessed inside the assembly chambers on May 19, 2026.

In a statement, the Commission said the investigations stem from allegations that the MCAs engaged in fighting on the floor of the House during a heated sitting of the County Assembly.

Narok County Assembly Speaker, Davis Solian Dikirr, alongside Joseph Kasaine Lengeny, are expected to appear before investigators at the EACC headquarters at Integrity Centre on Wednesday, June 4, to record a statement.

The anti-graft agency further revealed that the concerned MCAs have also been summoned to appear before investigators for interviews and statement recording beginning Monday, June 8.

According to preliminary findings by the Commission, the chaos is believed to have been triggered by disputes over changes in the Assembly leadership.

The incident occurred during a tense sitting convened to deliberate on an ouster motion against Narok Finance County Executive Committee Member (CECM) David Ole Muntet.

Chaos erupted shortly after the session began as divisions emerged among MCAs over the impeachment motion, with some members accused of abandoning an earlier agreement to support the removal of the finance executive.

Tensions escalated after Speaker Davis Ole Dikir rose to communicate proposed leadership changes and read the motion before voting could proceed.

The assembly chamber quickly descended into disorder, with rival factions exchanging blows in scenes that forced security officers to escort the Speaker out of the chamber as proceedings came to an abrupt halt.

Speaking after the incident, Speaker Ole Dikir attributed the chaos to disagreements among members over proposed leadership changes.

“Today we received a proposal from both members of the coalition on changes of leadership and I was doing the communication, there was a fracas among members, and I wouldn’t advise further, members will address the issues they had," stated Dikir.

“This will be stopped by the party membership having discussions away from the assembly because my role is if you bring a communication by the majority members, that is what I’ll do," he added.
