After lacking pro bono services, the 24 students who were arrested in connection with school fires at Kanjuri High School and Kiarithaini Secondary School in Nyeri County, will wait longer to take plea.

The Karatina court administrator was unable to provide pro bono services to the students who are underage.

Karatina Court Resident Magistrate Karen Njalale directed that the students be held at Karatina police station in a different cell from the adults.

19 of the students who appeared before Magistrate Njalele are from Kiunjuri High School while five are from Kiarithaini secondary schools.
