Kenya has dropped four places in the latest FIFA rankings released by the world football governing body on Thursday.

The national football team is now placed in position 106, down from the 102 position it held in September.

The drop follows twin defeats to Cameroon in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers earlier this month.

Cameroon claimed a 4-1 victory in the first leg in Yaoundé in Group J before completing a double over Kenya in the second leg with a 1-0 win in Kampala, as they sealed their place in Morocco with two matches to play.

The two defeats saw Kenya remain third in the group standings with four points, six adrift of leaders Cameroon and four behind second placed Zimbabwe.

In East Africa, Uganda has reaped three places up to position 87 to continue leading the region followed by Kenya. Sudan moved ten places up to position 110 globally with Tanzania sitting position 112.

Morocco, 2022 World Cup semi-finalists, maintained their top spot in Africa but also moved up one place globally from 14 to 13.

Former African champions Senegal dropped to 20th place while Egypt moved up to position 30th and third in Africa.

Reigning African champions Ivory Coast dropped seven places to position 40th globally and sixth in Africa.

Lionel Messi's Argentina remain in the top spot of the rankings globally followed by France and Spain respectively. England are in fourth and Brazil in fifth place.
