Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League side Bungoma Queens are eyeing a spot in the FKF Cup quarter-finals as they gear up to face National Super League outfit Gideon Starlets this weekend.

The Round of 16 clash is set for Saturday at 1 PM at the Bungoma National Polytechnic grounds.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Bungoma Queens head coach Godfrey Mabonga expressed confidence in his team’s recent form ahead of the tie.

“We’ve won two matches in a row and want to keep the momentum going,” he said. While acknowledging the strength of their opponents, Mabonga remains upbeat about their chances.

“The league title is out of reach, so our main focus is the cup. Gideon Starlets is a balanced team—we’ve faced them before—but my girls are ready and psyched for the match,” he added.

Gideon Starlets advanced to the Round of 16 with an impressive 3-1 win over Trans Nzoia Falcons, while Bungoma Queens booked their spot with a narrow 1-0 victory against Barcelona Ladies.

With both teams hungry for silverware, Saturday’s match promises to be a thrilling contest.
