FKF Premier League side Bandari FC has kicked off a week-long high altitude training camp in Nanyuki as part of their pre-season build-up ahead of the new campaign.

According to the club’s vice chairman Twaha Mbarak, the camp will allow players to adapt to the cold climatic conditions which they will be exposed to in most of their away matches.

“Our away matches form in the league has not been good and it is because of the weather that is why we opted for Nanyuki,” said Twaha.

The Dockers defeated Kisauni Combined United 2-0 in their latest friendly match on Saturday with new signing Jackson Dwang and William Wadri each finding the back of the net.

“We will also play some friendlies while at Nanyuki for our technical bench to assess the squad ahead of the new season,” he added.

The Twahir Muhiddin-coached side will then return to Mombasa and play a local side in their last build up match before their league opener against Tusker FC later this month.

Bandari, who placed sixth in the league last season were in Tanzania earlier this month where they won 1-0 against Coastal Union before losing 2-0 to Ice Cream makers Azam FC as part of their preparations for the league restart.

The coastal-based side will open their league campaign against Tusker FC on August 26 at their Mbaraki dockyard before visiting Sofapaka FC.
