Wajackoyah, during a gathering at Kondele grounds, was seen lying on top of his car for a few minutes before getting back on the microphone to address the crowd.
According to Wajackoyah, he was seeking consent from Raila to campaign in his 'backyard' and he had to consult him so that he would not be rejected by the crowd.
"I was in Raila's backyard and people have been stoned there. And when you saw me sleeping on the car I was dreaming. In my dream I was talking to Raila asking him 'I'm in your backyard, what do I do'...and he told me that he is pushing me to be the president," he told NTV.
Wajackoyah further dismissed claims that he is Raila's project, despite drumming up for his candidacy during the rally.
He said that he had to show support for Odinga in his backyard but maintained that he is under nobody's coercion and should he be branded as a project then he should be the 'people's project.'
"I am the underdog in this campaign I got to Kisumu I have to use any other means. I have been branded a project by either side. And I am a project of the people and not anyone's project," he said.
On top of legalising the cultivation of marijuana, Prof. Wajackoyah has also previously said his government will introduce snake farming and export of dog meat to China and other countries to increase the country’s income.
The professor will face Deputy President William Ruto of the United Democratic Alliance, Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja, and Agano Party’s David Mwaure Waihiga in the August 9 contest.
