The body of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo has arrived at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi following a fatal road accident that claimed his life early Saturday morning.

Jirongo, 64, died after he was involved in a head-on collision with another truck at Karai area along the Nakuru–Naivasha highway at around 3 am.

According to a police report, the former legislator was driving a Mercedes-Benz vehicle model from Nakuru towards Nairobi when he failed to keep to his lane and collided head-on with an oncoming truck owned by Climax Company.

Jirongo sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officers visited the scene and took the necessary action, after which his body was moved to Naivasha Sub-County Mortuary before being transferred to Nairobi.
