Roots Party presidential candidate Prof George Wajackoyah
now says Kenya will begin exporting dog meat to offset its burgeoning debt if
he is voted president in the August polls.
Prof. Wajackoyah who has previously said that his government
will legalise the cultivation of marijuana and introduce snake farming says he
will export dog and snake meat to China and other countries to increase the
country’s income.
“My government will export snakes and dogs overseas to make
more money to pay off the country’s debts,” Wajackoya told supporters in
Kakamega on Sunday.
The Roots Party leader was flanked by his running mate,
Justina Wamae, and reiterated his plan to legalise marijuana market for export,
saying his administration would plant bhang on the 4,494.8 hectares of Mumias
Sugar Company nucleus estate.
“We shall have enough earnings to change the state of the
economy,” said Wajackoyah.
To top it off, the presidential hopeful said his government
will deport Chinese citizens living in Kenya, who he said have scooped
lucrative opportunities at the expense of Kenyans.
“I will have Chinese citizens who have grabbed jobs in the
country deported if elected,” he said.
All this, Prof. Wajackoyah said, was in line with his
administration's plans to address youth unemployment and fix the ailing
economy.
“I will create a 24-hour open economy so that our country
can prosper,” he added.
Should Prof. Wajackoyah and Ms. Wamae win the presidential
race in August, they have promised that their government will cash in on the
lucrative anti-venom market by farming poisonous snakes and extracting toxins
from them that will enable the country to locally manufacture antidotes for
export.
Although Wajackoyah’s bid has been enjoying increased
popularity among younger voters nationwide, some church leaders have lately
been warning their faithful to be wary of Prof. Wajackoyah’s ideals, labelling
them immoral and unethical.
He has, however, maintained that he is prepared to counter
perceived resistance that his unique proposals would evoke among some of the
country’s residents.
“This is the only chance Kenyans have to change this country because we are only four aspirants, and it’s only me and Justina that have the real concerns of Kenyans. But if they want to follow someone who is giving them money, fine,” he said earlier this month.
The professor will face Deputy President William Ruto of the
United Democratic Alliance, Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja, and Agano Party’s
David Mwaure Waihiga in the August 9 contest.
