Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday evening arrived at N'Djili International Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the country’s President-elect Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.

The ceremony is slated for Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa.

President Tshisekedi garnered more than 70 percent of the total vote cast during the general elections that were held in December 2023 to comfortably secure his re-election for a second term.

Uhuru, who is also the and Facilitator of the EAC-led Nairobi Peace Process, was accompanied by Uganda’s Vice President Jessica Alupo.
