In a statement issued by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Tuesday, October 27, Ruto’s visit will focus on advancing Kenya’s economic and strategic interests through trade, investment and technology partnerships.
The President, who serves as the African Union champion on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), is expected to push for greater market access for Kenyan and African products, including tea, coffee, cut flowers, fresh produce and value-added goods.
Ruto will also seek investments in agro-processing, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure as part of efforts to strengthen local industries, expand production and increase the value of Kenyan exports.
The engagements will also explore partnerships in artificial intelligence, digital innovation and technology transfer, to equip young people with emerging skills, support businesses and strengthening Kenya’s digital economy.
The government will further pursue cooperation aimed at securing affordable agricultural inputs and strengthening food security.
At the Africa-Russia Business Roundtable, Ruto is expected to market Kenya as a competitive investment destination and a gateway to African markets, while promoting joint ventures and commercial partnerships that could create employment opportunities.
The forum will also provide a platform for African countries to engage Russia on global peace, regional security challenges and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
According to State House, African leaders will advocate reforms to global governance, stronger representation in international decision-making and equitable partnerships based on mutual respect and sovereign equality.
The discussions are also expected to address cooperation to support Africa’s industrialisation, economic transformation and shared prosperity.
On the sidelines of the forum, Ruto is scheduled to hold engagements with other Heads of State and government, international organisations, financial institutions and major corporations to mobilise investment, open new markets and secure partnerships supporting Kenya’s economic transformation.
