Ida Odinga's bodyguard shot dead in Kisumu

Reports indicate that Barrack Jaraha was shot dead at Mamboleo area in Kisumu West Sub-county at around 5 am.

Nyanza Regional Police boss Karanja Muiruri confirmed the incident, saying a probe is underway to establish the circumstances under which the aide was killed.

The body of the security guard has since been moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.

A source close to the family told Citizen Digital that the bodyguard was off duty.

Mama Ida Odinga was not Kisumu.
