Gospel singer Evelyn Wanjiru releases her fifth album
Wanjiru's album is aimed at
bringing hope in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am super excited to announce
the release of my new album that will minister to people not only in Kenya and
Africa but to the ends of the earth. I thank God for the completion of this
album and everyone that came in to make it a success,” she said.
The album consists of 12
audio-visual songs with a rich Kenyan culture and a South-African feel.
In addition, the artist said she
aims to reach the whole world by also blending sounds from both the African and
Western regions.
“’Mwanga’ the title song has a
South African feel with sweet melody all blended with Evelyn’s powerful voice.
Every song on the album will definitely raise your eyebrows, live rendition of
her Everlasting song takes you through a Kenyan way of singing,” read a press
release.
The album was produced in
front of a live audience on August 30 at the C.U.E.A L.R.C Auditorium and
later released on November 24.
Mwanga, which is the Swahili word
for light, is the gospel artists’ fifth album.
Wanjiru has previously released
four other albums namely: Waweza, Mungu Mkuu , Matendo, and Celebrate.
