Woman dead, another injured after car veers off Kangundo-Mwala Road

One woman died while another sustained serious injuries after their car veered off the road and rolled several times at the corners of Maiuni, around 5 kilometres from Kangundo Town along the Kangundo-Mwala Road in Machakos County.

Area chief Daniel Muli said the car was headed to Mwala during the Wednesday midmorning accident.

Muli said the road has several sharp corners which have been hazardous to motorists in the past.

The passenger died on the spot while the driver was rushed to Kangundo Hospital.

The chief further urged drivers to be careful as the festive season approaches and called on the Kenya National Highway Authority to put rails along the road.
