Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke has asked President William Ruto to take strong action against thugs who use protests to destroy and steal property.

Speaking in Sirisia on Monday, Waluke said that the protests may destroy Kenya if not controlled, as hooligans have captured the purpose of the Gen Z movement.

“Is this country theirs? We were also once Gen Zs like them. Who do they think they are?” posed Waluke.

He also said that the president has responsibility to protect the Constitution by ensuring that the law is upheld and that he should not continue to let protests rule.

“Cancel everything, do not give these people room to hold protests. What are protests for? Even if it is in the constitution, it can be barred because of destroying property,” Waluke said, accusing lobby groups of sponsoring protests.

“Who is Gen Z? We are supporting Ruto to stop tomorrow’s (Tuesday) protests once and for all.”

The anti-government protests that have been taking place for over a month have been occurring on Tuesdays.

Today, protesters had planned to storm the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
