The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has appealed to members of the public to provide information that could lead to the arrest of suspects linked to acts of violence and other criminal activities witnessed during the recent fuel price protests.

In a post shared across social media platforms, DCI published images of several suspects believed to have participated in the destruction of property and attacks that endangered civilians during the demonstrations.

“The suspects were captured while committing criminal acts that not only damaged businesses and public infrastructure but also endangered the lives and safety of innocent members of the public,” the DCI stated.

The agency urged Kenyans with any useful information to report to the nearest police station or anonymously through the #FichuaKwaDCI platform.

DCI also warned members of the public against engaging in criminal activities during peaceful assemblies, insisting that such acts would not be tolerated.

The appeal comes in the wake of protests triggered by the recent fuel price hikes, which saw cases of violence, destruction of property and disruption of transport in parts of the country.

Earlier, regional police commander Issa Mohamud announced the arrest of 225 suspects who were later arraigned before the Kibera Law Courts over the protests that took place on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Authorities said several police officers were injured during the protests, while vehicles were also vandalised.

During the court proceedings, the accused persons faced charges related to vandalism of vehicles along Moi Avenue in Nairobi’s Central Business District, disruption of business activities and obstruction of movement.

Speaking to the press, Mohamud cautioned protesters to follow lawful procedures while demonstrating.

“We will charge them with very serious charges and they must face the full consequence of the law,” he said.
