Suspected robbers invade Church, kill guard

Three suspected robbers invaded a Catholic Church in Funyula, Busia County killing the security guard and making away with property of unknown value in the dawn of Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

The security guard, aged 50, was attacked using a sharp object with the robbers inflicting deep cuts on him.

Busia County Police Commander, Halima Mohammed, said the three people, armed with machetes and other crude weapons, arrived at the church around 4:00am, killing the security guard and seriously injuring another person.

She added that investigations had been launched and called upon any members of the public with information pertaining the incident to avail it to the police.
