Supreme Court Upholds Munya’s Election As Meru Governor

Peter Munya has been reinstated as the Meru County Governor. This after the Supreme Court overturned an earlier nullification of his election by the Court of Appeal. Led by Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga, the Supreme Court faulted the Court of Appeal for not addressing itself to the subject matter of the petition initially filed at the high court, saying the petitioner failed to prove existence of irregularities, bribery and corruption in the March 2013 Meru gubernatorial election.
