President William Ruto's reelection campaign got a major boost on Monday after it was revealed he is the most popular presidential aspirant ahead of the 2027 General Election.

A survey by Infotrak's "Voice of the People poll" shows that Ruto enjoys 32% popularity across the country. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka came second with 13%, while Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Jubilee Deputy Party leader Fred Matiang’i were ranked third with 12% popularity.

The pollster further revealed that President William Ruto is most popular in the North Eastern region (59%), followed by the Rift Valley (46%) and Nyanza (40%). His popularity is lowest in the Central region (12%).

On the opposing side, Kalonzo was found to be more popular in the Eastern region (40%), while Sifuna was more popular in Western Kenya (26%), and Matiang’i commands the Central region with 19% popularity.

While Sifuna’s stronghold remains Western Kenya, Ruto commands a higher popularity of 35%.

However, the Central region has the most undecided respondents (26%), followed by Mombasa and Nairobi at 24%.

The poll also found that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua enjoys a paltry 4% popularity among presidential aspirants. Notably, Gachagua enjoys 12% popularity in the Central region, which is similar to Ruto’s popularity in the region.

In its findings, the pollster also established that Ruto draws most of his support from adults aged between 46- 55 years. On the other hand, Kalonzo’s biggest support comes from persons aged 55 years and above.

Senator Sifuna’s biggest supporters (20%) are aged 18-26 years, while Matiang’i’s base (14%) is made up of people aged 36-45 years.
