The Opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer, Raila Odinga, banner was Friday night vandalized at Karatina Town by unknown people.

The billboard displaying the image of Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka was mounted two days ago at the heart of Karatina town, a perceived Jubilee Party stronghold.

Condemning the incident, Mathira parliamentary seat ODM candidate, Chris Maina Kiruta, said that each and every candidate has the right to a campaign in every part of the country regardless of their tribe.

He claimed that they suspect the banner was destroyed by their Jubilee opponents to taint the image of Raila Odinga but they are sure they will emerge victorious in the August 8.

The little-known politician, Chris Maina said they are hopeful they will garner votes this time though most of the residents at Karatina market reported that they are supporting the Jubilee administration.

Maina also urged the NASA and Jubilee supporters to maintain peace during and after the elections saying Kenyans should embrace the leader who will be elected.

In 2007, Raila was also kicked out of a hotel by a businesswoman in the area.
