Kenya Police Bullets FC were officially crowned champions of the Football Kenya Federation Women’s Premier League after edging Madira Soccer Assassins 1-0 in their final match of the season at Police Sacco Stadium on Sunday, May 17 - 2026.

The champions signed off in style, with Rebecca Okwaro scoring the only goal of the match in the 40th minute, calmly finishing off a pass from Margaret Kunihira, who finished the season as the league’s top scorer.

The victory capped off another outstanding campaign for Police Bullets, who have now won the Women’s Premier League title for the third season in a row. Their consistency, strong squad depth and winning mentality have made them the dominant force in Kenyan women’s football.

After the final whistle, players and technical staff were joined by fans in celebration as they lifted the trophy and received their winners’ medals. The coronation marked the perfect ending to a season in which Police Bullets once again proved why they are the team to beat.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed said the success of Police Bullets reflects the progress being made in the women’s game and promised greater investment going forward.

“I think it’s very very exciting for women football for the first time you’re seeing there’s now prize money coming into the women league. All the teams managed to get something from the sponsors who’s Cape Media. I think next season we have a lot to do. We have to increase the prize money, we have to bring more fans into the stadiums and we have to of course bring more sponsors.

"It is important and very imperative that we continue building women’s football from the grassroots. I think you’ve seen the quality of football that the girls are playing, absolutely unbelievable! And, this is what we need to nurture, this is what we need to continue building up on,” said Mohammed.

Police Bullets head coach David Vijago credited the title-winning campaign to hard work and support from the club.

“The game was tough, but the players had already won the league, so I thank God for the win. We’ve had a good season mainly because of hard work, good players and good management,” said Vijago.

Despite the defeat, Madira Soccer Assassins head coach Bousted Mukolwe praised his players for their effort against the champions.

“We played with the champions and the girls have played well. Even though we lost 1-0, I’m happy. The season has been competitive, but we’ve gained valuable experience that will help us in the future,” said Mukolwe.

With the domestic title secured, Police Bullets will now turn their attention to the CECAFA qualifiers, where they will be looking to book a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League and continue their impressive rise on the continental stage.
