ODM invites applications for presidential aspirants, other posts in 2027 polls

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has invited applications from candidates interested in various positions in the 2027 general elections.
In a notice on Monday, Emily Awita, the chairperson of the National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC), said aspirants have up to Jun 30, 2026, to make applications through the party’s online portal.
The party has invited applications for the position of President, Governor, Senator, County Woman Representative, Member of the National Assembly and Member of the County Assembly.
After the application process is complete, the nominated candidates are expected to contest in party primaries, where winning candidates will fly party tickets in the 2027 polls.
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) had earlier invited applications for candidates interested in various positions in the 2027 polls.
From the exercise, 12,235 aspirants formally expressed interest in contesting various elective positions on the ruling party’s ticket.
