FKF-PL: Leopards out to claw Ulinzi Stars in opener

AFC Leopards have warned Ulinzi Stars to expect a tough challenge when the two face off in their FKF Premier League season opener at Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday.

Leopards have won three of their last four matches against Ulinzi and the Ingwe Team Manager Albert Wesonga says he expects his side to make a winning start.

“Right now the team is in good mood and we are preparing very well to make sure we are able to start well and also know how competitive our boys are.

“We know Ulinzi and we have played them in different games including the friendly match that we played against them recently.

“The only difference is that they will be in their new stadium (Ulinzi Sports Complex) but we have played there also (in friendly matches during the pre-season),” Wesonga said.

Wesonga added he’s confident that the Leopards head Coach Patrick Aussems has assembled a squad that can challenge for top honours this season.

“The head coach Aussems (Patrick) has prepared the team very well and I am confident we are set to play and bring good results).”

The delayed league season will finally kick off this weekend, three months after it was due to start.
