The Minister for Education in Nyeri County, Erastus Karanja, and Kieni legislator Kanini Kega have urged police to move with speed and investigate the alleged disappearance of 21 minors from Kieni East Sub County.

The minors drawn from different primary and secondary schools as well
as polytechnics were taken away from their homes two weeks ago on claims that they were to be offered an education sponsorship in Nairobi.

The two leaders said that the matter should be taken up seriously as that no one knows the condition the children are being kept in.

Kanini held that the minors could be undergoing torture or even radicalization lessons hence the reason to expedite the investigation process.

Speaking during a prize giving day ceremony at Munyu Secondary School in Kieni, Muriuki asked parents to be extra careful and ensure that their children are only handed over to authorised persons of high integrity.

This comes just a day after a section of the media highlighted the plight of the poor children taken from poor and vulnerable homes.
