Nyamita, Ichung’wah, Salasya among top performing MPs - Infotrak poll

The poll, released on Wednesday, ranked Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as the top performer, with 80% rating. 

The survey placed Kabuchai MP Joseph Kalasinga second with 78 per cent, followed by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Taveta MP John Bwire, who tied for third place with 76 per cent each.

In the survey, Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita appeared as the top-performing MP from the Nyanza region. Infotrak rated Nyamita at 71% alongside Mbooni’s Erastus Kivasu. 

In the survey, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa was also featured among the top 100, with a rating of 70%. 

The top 100 ranking also featured Mumias East legislator Peter Salasya, who received a 72% rating alongside Marianne Kitany (Aldai), Jackson Lekumontare (Samburu East) and Danson Mwashako (Wundanyi). 

In the survey, Kirinyaga's Jane Maina was rated the best-performing Women Representative at 67% as Rael Kasiwai of West Pokot came second at 61%, and Pauline Lenguris of Samburu came third at 60%. 

In senatorial rankings, James Murango of Kirinyaga was rated the top-performing Senator at 69%, John Methu of Nyandarua second and Murang’a’s Joel Nyutu came third. 

Factors such as availability, responsiveness, presence and visible value were used to rank the legislators. 

Infotrak said the survey was conducted between January and May 2026, covering all 47 counties, 290 constituencies and 1450 wards with an overall sample of 87,286.
