Construction of the Mjambere Level 3 Hospital in Kisauni Constituency, Mombasa County, has reached 85 percent completion, county officials have confirmed.

The facility is expected to be commissioned early next year as part of broader efforts to expand access to basic and essential healthcare at the community level.

Once operational, the hospital is anticipated to ease congestion at major referral centres, including the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, which currently serves patients from across the wider Coast region.

Residents in Kisauni are also expected to benefit from shorter travel distances and faster access to medical services.

According to county officials, the hospital will provide outpatient care alongside a range of essential services aimed at improving response times and overall service delivery within the area.

The project is among several healthcare investments being rolled out by the Mombasa County Government, with similar facilities under development in Likoni, Changamwe and Nyali sub-counties.

The update comes as residents mark the Christmas season, with leaders expressing optimism that the new hospital will significantly strengthen local healthcare once it becomes fully operational.
