Man arrested for killing brother during funeral fundraiser

Police in North Kamagambo location, Rongo Constituency on Tuesday a man who was accused of killing his brother during a funeral fundraising meeting.

The suspect, Samson Okul Opiyo, allegedly killed his brother, Joshua Ochieng Opiyo, over remarks the latter had made concerning his wife.

The brothers’ family was holding a fundraising meeting for a deceased relative when the suspect’s wife stripped naked after she was asked about her pledge towards the funeral expenses.

Confirming the incident, North Kamagambo Chief John Agoro said the deceased, who had been chairing the meeting, questioned the suspect’s wife’s actions, which angered the suspect causing him to pick a fight with his brother.

Agoro added that the deceased was killed using a blunt object, noting that investigations into the incident are still underway.
