Kwale: 64-year-old man hacked to death while bathing outside his house

A 64-year-old man has been hacked to death by unknown people at Mahuruni Village in Lunga Lunga, Kwale County.

Police say unknown assailants armed with crude weapons ambushed the deceased, Tungwa Katembe, outside his house and killed him.

The deceased’s family, according to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, said Katembe had gone to take a bath when they heard a chilling scream, after which they rushed out only to find him unconscious.

“According to his wife and children, the deceased had gone out to bathe behind the house and they heard him scream once. They rushed outside only to find him taking his last breath,” stated the report.

Lunga Lunga OCS and a team of DCI officers processed the scene where they found the body with a deep cut wound at the back of the head.

The body was taken to the Msambweni County Referral Hospital morgue awaiting post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the motive of the murder remains unclear.
