Ulinzi Stars head
coach Anthony Kimani says they will build on weekend’s 1-0 win over Bandari
ahead of the FKF Premier League run-in with 11 matches remaining.
The triumph ended
the Soldiers’ four-match winless run and also helped them surge above the
relegation bracket, four points above 16th placed Muhoroni Youth.
Kimani also
acknowledged the role played by the club’s supporters in downing Bandari, who
before losing the fixture had a three-match unbeaten run.
“We are grateful
for the support we have had from our fans whom we consider as our 12th player
during our matches. They have been travelling for the away matches and rallied
behind us.
“The boys have put
up a spirited fight courtesy of the push from our fans. I urge them to continue
with the support because when Ulinzi win then we all win.”
Kimani urged the
boys to remain focused as they aim to steer clear the relegation threat this
season.
“Going forward,
matches are coming thick and fast and from this point henceforth there is no
going to be an easy opponent. So ours is to focus and take one game at a time
so that we may climb up in the log standings.”
Ulinzi Stars are
currently placed 13th in the league standings, having amassed 29 points from 25
matches.
