Mwatate United head coach Andrew Kanuli says they are gunning for promotion to the FKF Premier League next season.

The former Nzoia Sugar tactician said their debut season in the National Super League last term provided them vital lessons which he hopes will add fuel to their push for top-flight promotion.

"We were on a first season where we have learnt our mistakes and we will not go back there this season," said Kanuli who also coached Shabana FC.

Mwatate who finished ninth during the previous campaign, are finalizing on their transfer activity having added 11 new names to their roster for next season which begins this coming weekend.

According to the club chairman James Mbaraka, they are in the final phase of signing 11 players who are already in Mwatate pending signatures.

Mwatate United lost eight players led by their lethal striker Cornelius Juma who joined Police FC in the top tier.

"By Friday ahead of our first match we will unveil the new entrants in our squad," explained Mbaraka.

Mwatate will play away to Fortune Sacco in Kirinyaga in their first match of the National Super Leagues 2021/22 season.
