Junet denies links to audio recording on 'high level IEBC meeting'

In a quick rebuttal, Junet in a press release on Sunday termed the audio as fake and that it is an act of malice from certain individuals who are against him.

"A manipulate voice recording doing rounds on social media purporting to capture Hon. Junet Mohamed as speaking to an IEBC official is fake," read the statement on his twitter.

"Hon. Junet urges the public to ignore the video, which appears to be one of the last desperate acts of a dying polytical campaign that has been based on years of lies, innuendoes, mudslinging, arrogance, chest-thumping, name calling, insults and now on a sympathy-seeking spree."

The statement further read that a swift probe into the matter should take course to bring the culprits to book.

"Hon. Junet invites investigative agencies to move with speed and investigate the matter, unearth the perpetrators and bring them to the law." 

In the audio tape making rounds online, a man was heard speaking to a purported official from the electoral body in vernacular requesting that IEBC charman Wafula Chebukati and the commission's boss Hussein Marjan should be present in the meeting.

Voice 1: "Can you bring Chebukati?" 

Voice 2: "Yes." 

Voice 1: "Good. Chebukati, you, Guliye, Molu, and the CEO...We will discuss this matter and we will come up with a solution. There is a problem there we need to sort it out."
