Jubilee Group has appointed Juan Cazcarra as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2026, succeeding Dr. Julius Kipng’etich, who retires on November 30 after eight years at the helm.

Cazcarra, who currently serves as Deputy Group CEO, joined Jubilee in July 2021 and took up his present role in April 2025.

He brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, having held senior leadership positions across Europe, Southeast Asia and Africa.

In a statement issued on Monday, Jubilee said Cazcarra had helped advance its digital transformation, improve operational efficiency and simplify processes to strengthen service delivery.

Jubilee Group Chairman Zul Abdul said the incoming CEO’s industry experience and knowledge of the business would support the company’s next phase of growth.

“Having worked closely with the Group’s leadership and contributed to our progress, Juan brings extensive industry experience, institutional knowledge and a clear understanding of our business and ambitions,” Abdul said.

“We are confident in his ability to build on our achievements and lead the Group through its next phase of growth.”

Cazcarra holds a Master of Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas and a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad de Zaragoza, both in Spain.

Kipng’etich leaves the role he has held since 2018, with the board crediting him with strengthening Jubilee’s regional position, supporting sustainable growth and investing in talent development.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Julius for his exceptional leadership and dedicated service to Jubilee,” Abdul said.

“His contribution has been instrumental in strengthening the Group’s position in the region, championing sustainable growth and developing the talent that will shape our future.”

Founded in 1937, Jubilee provides insurance and investment services, serving more than 1.4 million customers and beneficiaries across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi.

The Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed group operates life and health insurance businesses alongside Jubilee Asset Management, which provides investment solutions for individuals and institutions.
