Harambee Stars assistant coach Vasili Manousakis has praised
his players after Kenya's convincing 4-0 victory over Lesotho in an
international friendly match played on Sunday at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe
Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
The win saw Kenya finish the two-match series with four
points after drawing 1-1 with Lesotho in the first friendly on June 4.
Manousakis credited the victory to the players' discipline
and their ability to execute the game plan.
"The boys were much disciplined. We started well, were
clinical and got our rotations and positions right," he said.
The assistant coach noted that the June friendlies gave the
technical bench an opportunity to assess players and build squad depth ahead of
future assignments.
Vasili reckons that several players made their international
debuts during the two matches, gaining valuable experience at the highest
level.
"It was the first time for some of the players to play
at this level. We wanted many of them to make their debuts and gain experience
in international football," said Manousakis.
The two friendlies formed part of Harambee Stars'
preparations for upcoming assignments, including the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations
qualifiers and future international matches.
Kenya will now shift focus to the next international window
in September as the technical bench continues to build a competitive squad.
