Governor Wanga nominates her deputy as CEC, unveils full Cabinet

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has nominated
her deputy Joseph Oyugi Magwanga as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM)
in charge of Agriculture and Livestock, as she unveiled ten officials who will
serve in her Cabinet.
Wanga nominated Roselyn Omollo as CEC
in charge of Public Health and Medical Services, and Martin Opere as CEC for Education,
Human Capital Development and Vocational Training.
Danish Onyango was nominated as CEC for Roads, Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure, and Solomon Okello Obiero as CEC in charge of Finance and Economic Planning.
Dr Joash Aloo was fronted as the CEC in charge of
Water, Sanitation, Irrigation, Environment, Energy and Climate Change, while Polycarp
Okombo will head the Trade, Industry, Tourism, Co-operative Development docket.
Wanga further fronted Dr Peter Onyango Ogola to the Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development docket, Grace Mercy Atieno Osewe (Governance, Administration, Communication and Devolution), Dr John Agili (Blue economy, Fisheries, Mining and Digital economy), Sarah Atieno Malit (Gender equality and inclusivity, Youth, Sports, Talent development, Cultural Heritage and Social Services.)
Governor Wanga also appointed Royal Media
Services (RMS) cluster manager Charles Odhiambo as her Chief of Staff, Erastus
Randusi (Chief of Protocol), Silas Jakakimba (Advisor on Legal Affairs),
Nicholas Ayieta Odawo (Advisor on Political Affairs), Paul Onditi (Advisor on
Blue Economy and Fisheries), Patrick Were (Advisor Education Stakeholders’
Management), Silas Nyacharoh Rabah (Advisor on Youth Affairs), Rachel
Adhiambo Ogutu (Government Spokesperson), Benard Omuga (Advisor on
Security and Intelligence).
George Okoth Mboya has been appointed political
affairs advisor in the deputy governor’s office, while Gordon Okech Kendo will
serve as advisor on climate change.
Wanga, in a statement released on Tuesday, said
the appointments were made to enhance service delivery aimed at improving the lives
of Homa Bay residents.
The CECM nominees will undergo vetting by the
county assembly.
