Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago and Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi now appear to have put aside their political differences ahead of Deputy President William Ruto’s mega rally slated for Saturday at Eldoret town.

The duo, together with a section of leaders drawn from the North Rift, urged political leaders to avail themselves for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party rally.

“Unajua kuna viongozi wengi wanatoka sehemu tofauti za Kenya wanakuja hapa. Tunawaalika wote tunataka kufanya mkutano mmoja wa kumpatia Ruto blessings ndio atoke atembee pande zote za Kenya,” Sudi stated in Eldoret during the preparations of the rally.

The two leaders who have a long political rivalry are seemingly the steering committee organizing the DP’s rally.

Governor Mandago said that his support for the country’s second-in-command was based on the DP’s track record in the region over his past elective posts.

“Alikua mjumbe wa kwanza katika kaunti hii kuhakikisha hakuna shule yoyote ya matope ata moja ingawa wakati huo hakukuwa na CDF,” Mandago said.

Mandago and Sudi previously clashed over the former's interest to vie for the county's Senate seat.

Sudi however urged Mandago to give way for fresh blood, even going ahead to champion for his opponents in the race; Robert Kemei and Oliver Kipchumba Karori.
