Equity Hawks head coach Benson Oluoch has expressed confidence ahead of the start of the 2026 Kenya National Women’s Basketball Premier League season.
“We’re excited to finally get the season started; we’ve been waiting for too long. There have been a couple of changes in the camp, and we’re ready to go. Come Sunday, we’ll focus on our game plan, rally the troops, and see what the season has in store for us,” said Oluoch.
The Bankers will open their campaign on Sunday against Safe Spaces at the Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Grounds.
Last season, Equity Hawks finished third in the regular-season standings but fell short of reaching the finals. They will be aiming to improve on that performance this term and mount a stronger title challenge.
Meanwhile, the 2026 men’s Premier League season officially tips off today, with defending champions Nairobi City Thunder taking on Equity Dumas at 8pm at the Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium.
The new season promises thrilling action across both the men’s and women’s competitions as teams look to stake an early claim for silverware.
