The protesters chanted Jahenda's name outside the church, with police called in to bring order even as many continued to react to the disturbing viral clips.
This after Redeemed Gospel Church Buruburu confirmed in a statement that one of the bullies captured in the viral clips is a member of the church.
The church said it was “saddened” by the development and made it clear that church affiliation cannot be used to excuse or shield anyone from accountability.
There were also allegations that one of the bullies is the daughter of a pastor associated with the church, but the said pastor, Felix Kavoi, on Sunday while addressing the congregation, said he has no daughter at Riara University and dismissed social media claims that his daughter was involved in the bullying.
"I don't have any daughter at Riara University. Tell social media they are wrong and they are coming to the wrong place. My daughters are grownups and they are working. Their names are known," Reverend Kavoi said.
The viral videos show four girls bullying and harassing one of them during a night out. While one of the girls pushes the victim to the corner, the other is recording the whole incident while laughing hysterically.
The videos drew massive outrage from Kenyans, forcing the Church and Raira University where some of the bullies study, to issue statements condemning the incident.
