DP Kindiki still most preferred Ruto running mate, Wanga and Oburu trail – Infotrak

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki remains the most preferred running mate for President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election, according to a new survey by research firm Infotrak.
The poll places Prof. Kindiki at the top with a 34 per cent
approval rating, widening the gap between him and other potential running mates
drawn from across the country.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga emerged second nationally
with 11 per cent support, followed by Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga at 9 per cent.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National
Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula tied at 2 per cent each in the national
ranking.
The survey also highlights regional preferences for
President Ruto's possible running mate, with each candidate receiving the most support from their backyard.
In the Mt. Kenya region, 41 per cent of respondents
preferred Prof. Kindiki to deputise the President, with Kirinyaga Governor Anne
Waiguru emerging as the second most preferred candidate from the region.
In Nyanza, respondents favoured Governor Gladys Wanga, with
Senator Oburu Odinga coming in second.
The Western region leaned towards Prime Cabinet Secretary
Musalia Mudavadi as the preferred running mate, followed by National Assembly
Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.
At the Coast, Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho emerged as the region's top choice, with Prof. Kindiki ranking second.
