Disc Jockey Joseph Mwenda, alias DJ Joe Mfalme has been released from remand in the ongoing murder case of Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer Felix Kelian. 

In a ruling on Monday, the court stated that Mwenda and five co-accused including three police officers shall be made state witnesses.

The other co-accused are; Eric Kariuki Gathua, Simon Wambugu Wanjiru, Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruiyot Rotich and Agnes Kerubo Mogoiare.

They have all been in remand as police concluded investigations into the matter.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in a letter dated April 5, 2024, directed that Allan Ochieng alias Hype Balo, who was one of the accused in the assault of Kelian which is alleged to have caused his death will now be charged with murder.
