A family in Nairobi's Kariobangi South area is in distress after their loved one went missing more than a month ago.

Daniel Kabusho Kaniu was abducted by unknown individuals on June 18 at a club along Kenyatta Road in Juja.

The circumstances surrounding his abduction, which coincided with the start of anti-government protests, remain unclear.

His wife Joyce Wanjiru has made an appeal to the authorities to help trace her husband.

"I was told by his friend that he was arrested and his mobile phone had been switched off. I went there hoping to find him the next day but I did not find him," Joyce said.

CCTV footage obtained from an entertainment spot along Kenyatta Road in Juja captures Daniel being forcibly taken by masked men and bundled into a black vehicle.

The two minutes of horror were witnessed by attendants at this bar and restaurant who could only watch helplessly.

"I was there when the man was arrested. We didn't know what he had; we only saw two vehicles stop and four men whisked him into the car and drove away," said Dickson Wekesa, a witness.

Ateah Allois added, "The man was screaming while calling for help but nobody helped him. As it is in Kenya, I think people were scared for they didn't know what was going on."

Despite reports being filed at Kays police station, there are no significant leads in the case, deepening concern and desperation surrounding his disappearance.

"The worst fear ni akose kurudi sijui nitaeleza aje watoto ambao wamekuwa wakielezea...ningeomba sana kwa wale wameshikilia kama ni serikali wamproduce..kama ni wale wengine wacommunicate," Joyce noted.

The circumstances of his abduction, whether related to the recent anti-government protests or something more personal like a business dispute or a love triangle still remain unclear.
