Rwandan based engineer and businessman George Mwangi  died from head injuries caused by a blunt object. A postmortem conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital revealed that Mwangi was hit several times at the back of his head. The report also showed that his left hand fingers had injuries believed to have been acquired during the gruesome murder.

George Mwangi, the husband of Kiambu politician Gladys Chania died from head injuries inflicted by a blunt object.  A postmortem examination of the body of the Kigali based engineer whose body was found dumped in Kieni forest last week revealed, that his left hand had defensive injuries, an indication that Mwangi tried fighting  for his life.

The exercise at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital was presided over by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor.

Earlier, a row between Mwangi’s children and his family had erupted over who should be given access to the body for the burial. According to Jane Wambui , Mwangi's sister, the two parties later agreed to have representatives who will witness and sign removal of the body from the morgue once the burial date is set.

Kiambu politician Gladys Chania, mwangi’s wife, is in custody as a prime suspect in the murder. Police said blood soaked bed sheets, curtains and clothes were found hidden in a locked room adjacent to the master bedroom at their home in Mangu, Kiambu county.

DCI preliminary investigations earlier revealed that the deceased was killed in the family home and later dumped in Kieni forest, over 20 kilometers away. His body was found wrapped in a polythene bag and covered under a heap of cartons.
