Kenya Police Bullets tactician David Vijago hopes that they will win their remaining fixtures and defend the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Premier League title.

Vijago led the law enforcers in demolishing her former side, Kibera Soccer Women, 2-0 thanks to goals from Elizabeth Ochaka and Rebecah Okwaro, in one of the two matches played on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The win cemented Police's leadership in the 12-team league to 49 points, two ahead of second-placed Ulinzi Starlets as Trinity Starlets, Vihiga Queens and Zetech Sparks wrap up top five with 34, 30 and 28 points respectively.

The early kick off in the double header saw Elizabeth Mideva score a hat trick, giving the soldiers a deserved 3-1 win against four time champions, Vihiga Queens, who got their consolation goal from Irene Madalina.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Vijago believes they have all what it takes to retain their title.

“It was a very nice win which has motivated the girls to retain the title. We need to win the remaining match to fulfil the dream, something I believe we can do if we maintain the focus.”

Elsewhere, Kibera Soccer coach Bob Okallo hailed her charges for a good fight despite the loss.

“I want to thank my players for a good display on the pitch. We created a few good opportunities but we did not utilize them. Police got a corner kick which they scored but us we had multiple of them which we couldn’t. We congratulate Police for the win and they really played as champions and for us we will fight another day.”

Currently sitting fourth in the standings, Kibera remain within reach of a strong finish this season, with growing belief within the camp that the foundation being built could power a serious title challenge next term.

Okallo pointed to inefficiency in the final third as the primary concern, noting that while his players are consistently creating chances, they are falling short in converting them. He stressed that improving composure and execution in decisive moments will be key in the coming matches.

"One of the key areas we're focusing on is being more clinical in the attacking third," Okallo said.

Kibera Soccer Women have shown attacking promise throughout the campaign, with fluid build-up play and intelligent movement often unlocking opposition defenses. However, a lack of cutting edge in front of goal has repeatedly denied them maximum points, something the coach is keen to address.

Attention has also shifted to set pieces, an area Okallo believes can offer a competitive advantage if better utilized. Despite earning several free kicks and corners in recent matches, the team has yet to fully capitalize on those situations.

"We're creating opportunities, we're just not taking them," he added.
