The alleged abduction has sparked protests in Kiamaiko, with family members and residents demanding that the government either release him or charge him if he has committed crimes.
An uneasy silence has enveloped the popular hangout of Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Zizo, in Kiamaiko, Huruma Estate. He has not been seen for six days since his disappearance, which his family claims was an abduction.
He left home last Tuesday to supervise the fencing of his newly acquired piece of land in Juja, Kiambu County. However, only his colleagues returned, visibly shaken after witnessing what they say took place.
"I sell meat here in Kiamaiko. They were intercepted by two vehicles. The men were armed with AK-47 rifles. They asked, 'Who is Badi?' and then they took him away," said his brother Ramadhan Ndumba Mulu.
The family says it has knocked on every door in search of help, but six days later, there has been no information about his whereabouts.
"Today is the sixth day. He has not been taken to court, and we don't know where he is. The government should tell us where he is," added Ndumba.
The family insists that Zizo was abducted by police officers and is calling on the government to either release him immediately or present him before a court of law if he is being held over any offence.
"He is a father. Government, stop abductions. Tell us where he is," said Mohamed Isman, a resident of Kiamaiko.
His disappearance has become the focal point of protests and violent clashes witnessed in the area in recent days, leaving one person dead after confrontations erupted between demonstrators and police.
"We are giving the government 24 hours. If they do not release him, we will return to the streets and continue demonstrating until he is found. We are ready to die for him if that is what it takes," said Kiamaiko resident Rashid Juma.
