Probe as body of unidentified man found in Langas, Eldoret

Police are investigating an incident where the body of an unidentified man was found in Langas, Uasin Gishu County.

Locals alerted police officers after spotting the body at Cherunya area in the outskirts of Eldoret town.

“The body was found lying on the road. The man’s phone was still ringing at the time,” Ruth Malala, a resident said.

According to Malala, the area has seen a spike in cases of crime in the recent past.

“This is not the first time we are experiencing this in Langas. We urge the government to help bring this to an end,” Ronnie Kalwanyi, a resident, added.

According to Kalwanyi, the unknown gang targets youth in the area.

 Mark Mudenyo, another resident, added that insecurity in the area has changed the face of Cherunya area.

He expressed concerns over increasing attacks and insecurity in the area, calling on the police to beef up security in the area.

The body was taken to Moi Teaching And Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary as investigations get underway.
