One-year-old baby drowns in a pool of water in Siaya County

A sombre mood has engulfed Ndigwa sub-location in Rarieda, Siaya County after an infant drowned to death.
The one-and-a-half-year-old infant drowned in a pool of water at Osembo village Thursday evening.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the incident was reported at Madiany Police station by the South Uyoma Chief Symprose Langi.
"She informed police that she received a call from a villager informing her about the incident," Kimaiyo said.
Officers proceeded to scene and found the lifeless body of the baby in his mother's house.
It was established that the mother, Peris Auma, had left the deceased under the care of his brother Glen Washington before proceeding to the farm.
The body has been taken to Madiany sub county hospital mortuary.
