Jannik Sinner is guaranteed a spot in the last four of the ATP Finals ahead of his final group match on Thursday night after Alex De Minaur won a set against Taylor Fritz.

Australian De Minaur, whose debut Finals appearance will end at the group stage, took the first set 7-5 and handed world number one Sinner a semi-final spot.

Sinner heads into his last match in the Ilie Nastatse Group against Daniil Medvedev knowing that he is through no matter what, with a win ensuring him of top spot.

Medvedev, ranked fourth in the world, has to beat Sinner to make the semis.

Sinner is hunting his first Finals title after an exceptional season in which he won seven tournaments, including the French Open and Wimbledon.
