Isuzu East Africa has unveiled a special edition of Eliud Kipchoge D-Max double cabin vehicles in celebration of the marathon world record holder’s achievements.

The 159 desert orange limited vehicles have customized features that include Kipchoge's signatures and a Kenyan flag engraved on it.

According to the automobile company, the model was inspired by Kipchoge’s INEOS challenge where he clocked 1:59:40 to become the first man to run a marathon in under-two hours.

“This vehicle represents not only my achievements but the strength and resilience we all show. I am honoured to be associated with Isuzu for the last six months and I think this can inspire the next generation to work harder and be rewarded for their efforts,” said Kipchoge.

Isuzu EA managing director Rita Kavashe said the two-time Olympic champion has uplifted the brand since they started the partnership in 2017.

"We have partnered with Kipchoge since 2017 and over this period our journey has been bound together by seasons of great achievements. Our cooperation is beyond sports, we also support his foundation that also ventures in education mentorship and environmental conservation,” said Kavashe.

After finishing a disappointing sixth at the Boston Marathon last month, Kipchoge says he has resumed training ahead of his next race later in the year.

"Running has been my passion and it has proved to be how we can use sport to make a positive impact in the society. Last month I experienced a setback at the Boston marathon and I am working my way to come back strongly in my next marathon assignment,” said Kipchoge.
